The Country Inn
Our Country Inn, built in 1890 and tucked under shade trees, is reminiscent of a by-gone era, reflected in traditional coastal Maine architecture. Corner rooms are named for the islands of Bass Harbor and for our beloved local ‘horse and buggy’ doctor, Thomas Tapley. Johns Island has a private entrance from the farmer's porch overlooking the harbor, Sawyers Island has the original Victorian bath with shower and the Tapley Suite has a full kitchen. Our Rooms for two offer a perfect getaway at your own pace – in-room coffee and in-room refrigerator for your snacks and beverages as well as private baths, seasonal AC and streaming television. Our premises are smoke and pet free. Bring your kayak for tidal launching and your laptop for wifi access. Free parking for one vehicle.
